Intelligence test: Test your logic and reasoning skills!
Everything about the intelligence test
Intelligence is defined in different ways, so there is no single intelligence test. There are various IQ tests in which different tasks have to be completed, different things are asked and you have to find the right answers to countless questions in a certain amount of time. But no matter which one you take, they all aim to measure your intelligence.
Intelligence is defined as mental capacity that is particularly required for problem solving. The challenges for thinking can be complex, their nature can be
logical
linguistic
mathematical
visual
emotional.
Since mental ability can vary and each person can approach a problem differently, an intelligence test should be taken with caution.
Your individual results in the IQ test are set in relation to the general public so that a quotient is calculated. The physicist Albert Einstein had an IQ of 160, the politician Napoleon Bonaparte allegedly had an IQ of 122 and the actor Arnold Schwarzenegger an IQ of 135. With an IQ of 190, the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein and the chess player Garry Kasparov were at the top for a long time. But the Australian mathematician Terence Tao is said to have an IQ of 220 to 230, which was measured when he was 10 years old.
Most people have an IQ of between 90 and 110. An IQ of over 130 is considered gifted. This affects around 2 to 3 percent of the population.
What is measured in the intelligence test?
Depending on the method, an intelligence test provides a certain number of tasks that you have a certain amount of time to complete. Among other things, they test
linguistic intelligence:
Relationships between words, recognizing the same and different meanings of words, etc.
Logical thinking:
Recognize analogies, complete word sequences according to similarity or difference, etc.
Mathematical skills:
Solve arithmetic problems, solve mathematical text problems, etc.
Spatial thinking:
Recognize mirror images, assign bodies, complete rows of figures according to structure, etc.
Memory:
Memorize terms, recognize sequences, recognize figures, etc.
In some cases, the time required to find a solution or originality is also taken into account when calculating the intelligence quotient. The latter is particularly important for artistic intelligence and, as you can imagine, is virtually impossible to measure.
Difference between intelligence and general knowledge
As described above, intelligence is defined as mental capacity that enables abstract and logical thinking and encourages purposeful action. General knowledge, on the other hand, is part of education. In the course of a lifetime, knowledge is accumulated, in some cases even knowledge that is neither used nor particularly useful.
Since both are very different, we have compiled the quiz in different categories for you.
What results await you on Quizworld?
First of all, the bad news: there is no official intelligence test that presents you with your result at the end and thus a fixed value, the intelligence quotient. Instead, we have picked out various IQ test factors for you, such as linguistic ability, logical thinking or mathematical understanding, and put together lots of questions about them. These are the preferred questions in such tests.
Now comes the good news: the quizzes give you the opportunity to test, try out and train yourself. You will receive a result. If you are logged in, you can see your correct answers, the time required for a correct answer and the quota – i.e. the ratio of the number of questions to the correct answers. If several people have already saved their results, you can also compare yourself with them.
Everything about these intelligence tests is free. There are no hidden costs after registration. You can see in which areas you perform particularly well. You may discover your special talent here. You can also identify the areas in which you still need to train and develop a better routine. Because one thing is clear: intelligence is not a static variable that is measured once in a lifetime.
