Rumpelstiltskin, a character from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of the same name, said this triumphant phrase when he thought he had successfully implemented his plan. The phrase describes the sequence of his supposed actions. The queen had previously promised her first-born child in exchange for the little creature’s help in spinning straw into gold.

But Rumpelstiltskin’s joy does not last long. The queen discovers his true name, which finally takes away his power. This scene illustrates the character’s pride and arrogance, which ultimately lead to his failure.
