Detailed answer to the quiz question

Jim Morrison, the charismatic frontman of the rock band The Doors, was not only a musician but also a lyricist. In addition to his provocative song lyrics, he also published volumes of poetry in which his poetic vein is clearly evident. Morrison was interested in literature, philosophy and the beat poets from an early age. His poems are often dark, surreal and full of existential questions – very much in the style of authors such as William Blake or Arthur Rimbaud, who strongly influenced him.

His best-known works include the collections “The Lords and the New Creatures” (1970) and the posthumously published book “Wilderness”. In his verses, Morrison dealt with dreams, fears, rebellion and death – themes that are also echoed in his music, but which have an even more intense and personal effect in his poems.
